Back from Christmas Holidays

My youngest sister is still in South Hampton enjoying herself and will be back on 2 January 2013. Meanwhile, I had a short holiday over Christmas and it is now over. Time flies so fast and before you know it, it is time for New Year celebration. I got myself an iPhone 5 with IOS 6 last night. I traded in my old iPhone 4 for $700 and bought the new iPhone 5 for $2,012. This month, I am in a spending moon and also contributed $400 to charity. I also got a Prada handbag from KLCC, the most expensive gift I got myself. These are my own hard earned money and it pays to spend a little so that there is the motivation to keep working diligently.

New Mercedes S280

My colleague is doing very well. She just bought a Mercedes S280, silver in colour after getting a promotion and bonus this year. It is more of a family car and I guess her kids will fit in nicely. The car looks good but very expensive. Since she is in the sales line, it will suit her job functions well and impress potential clients. She earns a basic plus commissions that bring in the dough. Well, I just wish her well with her new car. It is an apt Christmas present to herself with this sleek marque, fully automated with many functions - according to her.

Looking for Work Online

Just the other day, I woke up early in the morning before 6:30am and fired up my computer to look for work online. My efforts paid off when I found a job offer that I can easily complete within minutes. An email reply came back asking for more details and how I will go about doing this work. After fast correspondences, I completed the work to add meta tags to the web site so that it will be listed first in google and was promptly paid US$20.00 on the same day!

By the way, my client was from Ipoh, a film producer living in New York, and apparently doing quite well there! It certainly pays to live in Malaysia while earning US dollars which can be converted three times to local currency.

Time for an Update

I have been some days since I last update this blog. I was in KL for business for about 1 week. Now I am back in Penang to do some online work for a client from Australia. Unlike most people who would rather sleep than work, I am a workaholic and will always find something meaningful to do. As they say, "Make Hay while the Sun Shines!" So, while I am still healthy and able, I will work for as long as possible for a secure golden retirement. What about you? Don't get jealous of my success, as I certainly work hard for it. While most of other people prefer to just nap at home or watch telly.

Priority Banking

Today I went to Public bank again to take out my Fixed Deposit that matured last month and put into Standard Chartered Bank to take advantage of the 4.01% interests rate per annum. In the meantime, I also applied for priority banking and received a notepad that looks like a diary. I also hope to get my Infinity Credit Card. Well, I am not too happy with the service of the relationship manager who tells me that there is no gift at all and all given out. After much talking, then only she relented. My God! This was my entitlement that should be given out automatically and not with much persuasion or arm-tactic. I feel like lodging a complaint but then that will be another day.

Peace working from my Apartment

I now enjoy more peace of mind working from my new apartment where there is complete privacy and silence from the neighborhood. In fact, my opposite neighbor does not even stay at her condo and only comes once in a while for holidays. It is like a holiday home for her. So, in the meantime, I am enjoying myself working all alone with all the facilities put in place like a fax machine, multi-functional printer with scanner and copier and of course, my new laptop installed with Windows 7. My boss has gone out for site visit and to run errands while I handle all the computer work and administrative job. It is a win-win partnership for us where we do everything ourselves without the additional overheads of extra staffs. This company is blessed!

Today is Pay Day

Today is pay day for me, which is every 1st and 15th of the month. More moolah in my bank account! As long as the present status quo is maintained, I can be gainfully employed for as long as time permits. Well, I have been in the same company for 8 years already, all working from a home office. It is quite easy for me as I don't have to commute to work or get dressed up and put on make up. No longer do I get stuck in snarling traffic jams every morning or when work finishes in the evening. No longer do I suffer the disease of Egypt, which is stress! Working all alone at home is easy peasy and I get to nap in between work! What more can you ask for?

Down with Cough

I have been coughing on and off for a few months now. When I thought I was healed and took cold drinks, I am down again with a cough. I have finished my medication, bought from the pharmacist, yet there is not healing of the cough! So for now, I have to be contend with drinking hot Chinese tea and warm food. The good news is that I work in a home office, so I can take leave anytime and rest to recuperate from all the coughing. I have an understanding boss who is also generous. Because of this, my fortune has turned 180 degrees ever since I came back to Penang to start all over again.

Verified My Payza

Today I managed to successfully verify my Payza account. It was formerly known as Alert Pay. However, the debit card that I bought online is still Alert Pay and I am not sure if I can still use it with Payza. There is USD 32 loaded to the card of which I have been trying to withdraw using the Visa ATM machines. I am still clueless as to how to withdraw into Malaysian Ringgit of RM 90.00 after a deduction of USD 3 for the transaction. Otherwise, I will just use the debit card to purchase items from any of the supermarkets and free up the loaded cash. The money saved is my hard work completing micro jobs from a web site.

Writing a Book

I hope to become a successful book author. Currently, I am working on a book and hope to get it published by the end of the year at the latest. However, I am still taking my time to write it and to find worthy things to jot down and have it printed. Writing a book is a laborious task and it is not for everyone. First, you need to have a laptop or a computer and be able to type with 10 fingers! Then you need to be able to thing coherently with tapping on the keyboard so that your contents make sense and people want to buy your book to read it.

You have to consider the end user in mind. Your book clients. There might also be speaking engagement and autographing of your book in the various bookstores. So there will be much publicity and your life will not be the same as before. You might have to trade off your privacy to successfully sell your book. Just wait and see!

Choosing a Good Web Design

I am a freelance web designer and appreciate any good web site designs by Designpax which has a business web site in designpax.com, where you can click on the link to find out more information.

I can identify with the difficulties a web site designer faces especially when he or she has to come out with a fresh looking layout or template that is easy to navigate, not cluttered and clean design with a preferably white background for readability.

Not only that, the web site also has to load fast, hopefully within 20 seconds on a dial-up modem as many countries in the world and especially in the developing ones are still using the old dial-up system. That is because, you don't want to miss out on this target group of people and hope that they don't bypass your beautifully designed web site all because they have to wait for too long for all the page elements to load up fully.

The landing page design is also just as important and you can also add Facebook landing pages to increase traffic for the taking. Hence, a good website designer not only can design a fully functional and beautiful web site but one that works well with any browser like Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and so on.

These are the pertinent factors to consider when designing a web page or a web site for that matter.

Making Money is Not Easy

Making money is not easy and not everyone in the streets know how to do this. That is why you have beggars begging with some genuine cases while others are professional beggars recruited by organisations. This is the easiest way to earn money but can be very very boring! Sitting down there whole day doing nothing, except to look pathetic, dirty and destitute. Hence, it is all about education and integrity. The higher educated you are, the more likely you will earn more.

Got an Offer Today

Today, I received an offer to blog and get paid. Working on the internet other than my main job is my part time income, where I will write articles for clients now and then. It is a win-win basis for both parties. I love my job and I work in my pajamas.

It is like a dream come true - my goal all this while is to be able to sustain myself while working from a home office with just a computer and internet connectivity. So, working at a home office suits me perfectly well. No more office politics and back stabbing.

No more 'disease of Egypt' or simply known as 'stress!' Do you know that stress can kill you slowly but surely? Now with an understanding boss, my life has turned around 180 degrees and I take it as God's provision and blessings upon my life.

Received Offer to Write

I received a writing offer after submitting my resume for the job which I found online. Well, the young start up has paid me a few times already after I delivered the work promptly. It is about 5 sen per word which is about 1.67 cents USD per word, which is not too bad.

What I like about this gig is that I have the freedom to write as much as I like or as little as I wish. So, everything is up to me. The articles are for the web site and there are reference sites for me to browse through. It is so easy peasy but who says working hard for money is difficult?

If you are afraid of hard work, then I think it is not for you. Otherwise, it could be a profitable hobby working at home in your own pace.

Money is Not Everything

Do not worship money. Love people and use money. Not love money and use people. We are not to allow our love for money to cloud our judgement and do the things that we will regret later. Relationships are more important and you can lose the money, but don't lose the good relationship. Money can be earned anytime as long as you are happy, of sound mind and have a good relationship with someone you love. Eventually, both of you can earn back what is lost and recoup your loses in a matter of time and will. Two heads are better than one and find friends that will motivate you to greater heights. Look for positive people to encourage each other. Avoid negative and boastful people if possible.

God Grant Me Wisdom

I pray for God to grant me wisdom in my everyday affairs, especially when dealing with my parents. It is not easy being left out and the length of time spent at home can be uncomfortable. But I pray that God will give me favor to get along with people and the determination to work by the computer long hours, checking out pertinent information so that I can continue to earn money way into my golden years. I am neither young nor old and need to make as much as I can for my golden year during retirement ahead. But happiness with contentment is great gain and I should strive to be happy inside my soul. When worry and anxiety are gone, then can I rest and relax in His shalom peace. Now I have quite a substantial savings with some leftover for investment into the share market. Today, I bought Nestle at RM 55 per share for 100 shares through my Public Bank online trading account. I plan to keep the money there untouched for at least 10 years before realizing profits.

Looking for Legal Services?

In a short while, I will be going to KL for business. I still recall many years ago, working for my aunt who is an advocate and a solicitor in Shenton Way in Singapore. I was just her temporary secretary while looking for a permanent job. Talking about lawyers, you can check out Dui Attorney Springfield and Criminal Attorney Springfield by clicking on the links given and read up more about them, especially if you are staying near Springfield.

The legal fraternity is needed to litigate our cases in court and to fight for our rights as a citizen. When it comes to crime cases, these lawyers can help you out, speaking on your behalf using the legal terms, that sometimes we find it difficult to understand. That is why, they are taught for at least 4 years in the university, reading up cases and having mock court case before graduating and becoming qualified lawyers.

Not Easy to Keep Earning Online

First, it was PPP, then Adsense, and now my Nuffnang Glitterati has become Normal membership, thus, earning less with 15 cents per click compared to 25 cents per click previously. I also have to support my aged parents giving them RM 650 per month for the last few years already. There will always be financial obligation to my family and the bills to pay every month. I hope to read up more books so that I can one day, write my own book for publishing and distributing to the various book stores. I can earn up to 40% royalties, but you need to invest at least $4,000 to $5,000 for the copies of books to be printed and sold. Payment is every 6 months from the various bookstores. Then, only you will get noticed and approached for writing gigs.

Happy Easter Sunday

t started with Maundy Thursday and yesterday was Good Friday where Jesus suffered the agony at the Garden of Gethsemene before he was crucified for our salvation in exchange for our sins. 3 days later, he rose from the dead to Heaven on an Easter Sunday – marking the new birth for all Christians. We are finally redeemed from our sins and have eternal life in heaven. Today is Holy Saturday.

Now is the season where fellow Christians reflect on this holy week to mark Easter Sunday, the very purpose where Jesus came down to earth as a sacrificial lamb and atonement for our sins. He left the confort of heaven to be born in a lowly manger of Mary and Joseph in Bethlehem, Jerusalem. This is the love story of our saviour Jesus Christ who loved us so much to come down to earth to die for our sins. Now, as Christian, we have hope in Jesus on His finished work at the cross. Instead of perpetual condemnation, we now have grace from our Heavenly Father.

Bad Kids

Posted by Heriberto Fuentes

My kids are misbehaving a lot lately, and I don’t know how to handle it. I know they are just kids, but I have to figure out a way to punish them so they know they can’t run amok. I feel bad because I think my bad parenting is causing their misbehavior. My husband keeps on telling me to stop being so hard on myself, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to until things get better. We started by taking away all of their video games as punishment. I was shocked when that didn’t work. I thought that would whip them right in line. Next we cancelled all cable services so they don’t have access to any of the channels they like to watch. I hope that they will start getting better before I have to take something else away. I don’t even know what I would take away next. I think these two things are pretty important to them and it hasn’t helped taking them away. I feel terrible depriving them but this is what we have to do to make sure they understand there are consequences for their actions.

Received my 7th Nuffnang Cheque

I have banked in my 7th Nuffnang cheque a few days ago and it was just over RM 50.00 after a few months, about 2 or 3 at the most. Now, I am no longer Glitterati status, so it will take even longer to see the amount accumulate since I could no longer post in innit of Nuffnang being a normal member. Thank goodness, I still have my full time employment to work in a home office that I can solely rely on for my financial income. Now I work extra hard to phone clients for payment and to remind them to pay us after emailing the invoices.

AlertPay Cash

I have some cash in my AlertPay account for completing micro jobs online. Just yesterday, I ordered my AlertPay debit card for USD 20.00 plus or so which I will receive in 2 months time at the latest for countries outside USA. I had to scan my latest bill statement and my IC to email them for the confirmation. In the meantime, I will continue with the micro jobs so that the earnings will accummulate for withdrawal every month. 'Sedikit sedikit lama lama jadi bukit." The idiom means a bit at a time and it will become a hill. So, I am expecting my AlertPay debit card for ATM withdrawal of my US cash in May 2012 at the latest.

Georgia/Florida game

Thanks for the post, Kathy Shelton

Even though I graduated from the University of Georgia, we ended up settling in Jacksonville, Florida. As everyone knows that is where the most famous Georgia/Florida game takes place each year. All four years that I went to UGA I travelled south to attend the football game. Some of the most fun times I had during college were when we would go in a big group down to the game. We would always start tailgating very early the morning of the game. I was in a sorority and my boyfriend, who later became my husband, was in a fraternity. We would hang out with all our friends and have such a great time. Now that I live in Jacksonville I don’t have to travel for the game. In fact, most of the time it is really hard to get tickets so we just watch the game on satellite television that we got through direct tv Jacksonville. That is the time of year that a lot of our old friends show up on our doorstep. They are mostly in the same boat as us with no tickets to the game. So we just have our own tailgate here at our house and try to relive the days when we were young and didn’t have a care in the world.

Living from Hand-to-Mouth

In Malaysia, many people are living from hand-to-mouth, without any emergency funds to tide them through in case of unemployment or retrenchment. Others live from pay cheque to pay cheque and before the end of the month is up, their savings are almost empty. It can be stressful living at subsistence level with just sufficient to cover the month. Therefore, we need to look for alternative source of income to supplement our coffer. To say the least, education is very important and is the only way to bring us out of poverty.

Don't be Lazy

We should always do our utmost best in whatever endeavour we are put in - be it our job, vocation or anything else in life. In fact in the Bible, we are told to work until the day we die - as long as we are capable and healthy. Therefore, do not lament why other race is prosperous and are richer! Because it is ingrained in our culture as a Chinese to work hard, be diligent and always find something to do to gain financially the legal way. We don't expect handouts from the government and can survive in any place we migrate to - for business.

Starting fresh

Thanks for the post from Sylvester Campbell

Unfortunately, people do change. That’s what happened to my husband and I. We’ve been growing in different directions for about 3 years now and got to the point that we decided to go our own ways. Luckily, we don’t have any children, which makes this whole “starting over” thing much easier to swallow. We moved out of our apartment and each got our own place. I got a small house and have been learning to navigate the “homeowner waters” one step at a time. First it was closing on the house, then it was moving and setting up the utilities. The moving part was fairly easy because I had friends and family help me get all the big things moved in one day. The utilities took some time and patience. It was a lot to set up. Cable, phone, internet, gas, electric, water, etc. I bundled my cable, phone and internet- check. After researching New York Energy Rates, I chose my energy provider- check. Water was easy being finished with a quick phone call. The last thing I have to do, is finish unpacking the small things out of the boxes.

Serpentine Ang Pow

I got $20 from a relative with the ang pow above. Just loved the serpentine design of the dragon for the year 2012. I also got a 4-figure ang pow from my boss - in appreciation of my yearly work. Chinese New Year in 2012 is certainly a time to celebrate the many blessings that come upon my life with the various sources of income - regardless of the amount. I also just came back from Hatyai where I spend 3 days and 2 nights with my family - going for shopping sprees, dining and enjoying foot massaging.

Frostwire 5 - Download it

For those of you who love music and movies, you can go to Frostwire 5 - Download it now. I love watching movies and usually go to the cinema in the shopping malls for a good show. It is more expensive than watching on my laptop because of the surround 3D sound system and 3D images where you have to wear special 3D glasses on comfortable chairs. I get a 10% discount off the movie tickets due to my GSC Hong Leong Bank credit card which teams up with Golden Screen Cinemas for the promotion.

I watch a few shows a month, sometimes none at all if there are no titles that interest me. Normally I will go for Disney's shows, Pixar animated series or any heart warming flicks. I don't watch ghost, thriller or anything scary that may affect my sleep pattern.

If you are glued to your computer or laptop all the time, then Frostwire is the solution for you for your entertainment at home. I love working in a home office and have been doing it since February 2004. It is like being my own boss working in my pajamas without any colleagues spying or reporting me. My boss also trusts me to complete my work conscientiously at home and get the job done in a timely manner.

It is All About the Traffic

If you have high traffic, you can do well with Nuffnang and get more sponsored posts. I know this for a fact because some bloggers are getting more than $1k per month from Nuffnang. It all boils down to traffic and the number of visitors to your blogs. That is why you need to build a community of repeat visitors who will come and comment on your blog and create buzz. You also need to be consistent and maintain your blogs on a regular basis. Making money online is never easy and sometimes you need some luck and favor of God.
